COURSE REPORT:  The Cal State San Marcos men's golf team placed fourth at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout hosted by Cal State East Bay after firing a three-round total of 6-under 858.
 
FIRST TEE

• Patrick Jaksch shot a 7-under 209 (71-68-70) to share fourth place with Chico State's Tyler Ashman.
• Gavin McCormick picked up his first collegiate top-10 finish with a 5-under 211 (71-70-70) for a share of 10th place.
• Jason McElroy tied for 17th place with a 2-under 214 (70-71-73).
• Grerg Mouser tied for 52nd place with an 8-over 224 (75-77-72) while Arman Rahgozar tied for 67th with a 12-over 228 (77-77-74).

• CSUSM tallied 18 birdies, the fourth most in the tournament.  
• Western New Mexico led wire-to-wire, tallying a 28-under 836 (282-272-282) and winning by 16 strokes.
• Shion Suzuki of Hawaii Pacific was the individual medalist with an 11-under 205, winning by just one stroke over second-place Arnav Arkanath of Western New Mexico (206, -10).

After playing three tournaments in as many weeks, the Cougars will take next week off before traveling north for the Hanny Invitational hosted by Stanislaus State on March 25-26.
