Box Score CHICO, Calif - The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team (11-11, 9-5 CCAA) collected its fifth consecutive win with a four-set victory (25-17, 25-19, 25-27, 25-15) at Chico State (4-14, 1-13 CCAA) on Saturday afternoon in Acker Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Behind a .478 clip, CSUSM took an early lead and cruised to a 25-17 first-set victory.
- The Cougars pulled away in the second set at the 13-12 mark on a Barr kill and never looked back for a 25-19 win.
- The third set saw nine tie scores and four lead changes. After one match point, CSUSM waved off a Wildcat set point before they forced a fourth set with a 27-25 win.
- CSUSM got control of the fourth set early and slowly pulled away to clinch the match win with a 25-15 victory.
QUICK HITS
- CSUSM remains tied for fifth place with Sonoma State in the CCAA standings with a 9-5 record. With a loss to Sonoma State, Cal State East Bay drops two games back and sits in seventh place.
- The Cougars completed the series sweep over the Wildcats after also defeating them in The Sports Center in four sets on Sept. 29.
- CSUSM extended its win streak over Chico State to eight matches.
- The Cougars now hold a 10-3 lead in the all-time series and are 5-1 when playing in Acker Gymnasium.
