SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team (7-11, 5-5 CCAA) will conclude its three-match homestand this weekend when the Cougars welcome Sonoma State (11-6, 6-4 CCAA) and Cal Poly Humboldt (5-13, 2-8 CCAA) to The Sports Center on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
LAST WEEK
- The Cougars rebounded from being swept last Friday in Pomona with a five-set upset win against then-No. 17 Cal Poly Pomona on Saturday in The Sports Center.
- CSUSM dropped three sets to the Broncos by scores of 25-16, 25-21 and 25-15 on Friday.
- The Cougars defeated Pomona in five sets on Saturday by scores of 15-25, 25-15, 26-24, 16-25 and 15-13.
BY THE NUMBERS
- CSUSM is in seventh place in the CCAA standings, one game back from Cal State East Bay, Sonoma State and San Francisco State who are in a three-way tie for fourth place.
- Saturday's five-set victory was CSUSM's second of the season. In the Cougar Classic, the Cougars posted a five-set comeback over St. Edward's on Sept. 8.
- With 1,002 digs, the Cougars moved into third in the conference.
- Tori Goff is dishing out 8.37 assists per set, ranking her fourth in the CCAA.
- Mia Christensen is fifth in the CCAA with 232 total digs and digs per set with 3.52.
- Head Coach Andrea Leonard reached a career milestone – her 200th CSUSM win – against Cal State Monterey Bay on Sept. 16.
- Leonard is five wins away from collecting her 300th career victory as a collegiate head coach.

CAL POLY HUMBOLDT BREAKDOWN
- Despite their 2-8 conference record, the Lumberjacks have been dangerous this season with three of their CCAA losses coming in five sets.

- The Cougars finished their 2022 campaign with an 8-17 overall record and were 7-11 in CCAA play – eighth in the CCAA standings.

THE LEONARD FILE
- Head coach Andrea Leonard enters her 13th season in charge of the Cougar volleyball team, a program she has built from the ground up since arriving on campus in 2010.
- Leonard has a 203-157 (.564) record as CSUSM's head coach.
- In 17 seasons as a collegiate head volleyball coach, Leonard holds a 295-283 (.510) career record.
- Leonard was CSUSM's first-ever CCAA Coach of the Year after guiding the Cougars to a third-place finish in the overall standings during the 2017 season.
