SAN FRANCISCO – The Cal State San Marcos men's track & field team racked up three silver medals in the second day of the CCAA Track & Field Championships on Friday.

TOP PERFORMANCES
- Joshua Litwiller silvered in the 10K with a time of 30:09.25. This was Litwiller's third time medaling in the 10K at the CCAA Championships as he placed second in 2019 and was third in 2017. Also scoring for the Cougars was Kibrom Elias in fifth at 30:38.09 and Ruben Piña in seventh at 30:53.89. Elias' time was the sixth fastest in program history.
- Justice Chima and Isaac Muanza each earned All-CCAA second-team honors in the high jump as both put up a height of 2.02 meters – fourth best in program history. This was Chima's and Muanza's first time medaling at the CCAA Championships. They're also the third and fourth Cougars to ever earn a CCAA medal in the high jump, joining Frederik Jahr (2016) and Nick Heid (2017) who also silvered.
- Chima later qualified for the finals of the 200-meter dash with the second-fastest time of the prelims at 21.54.
- In the men's 1500 prelims, Nick Melanese and Shea Vavra moved on to tomorrow finals with times of 3:59.08 and 3:59.14, respectively.
- Trevor Boaz had the top time in the second heat of the 800-meter prelims at 1:55.25 and qualified for tomorrow's final. Melanese also qualified with a time of 1:55.45.
- Jonathan Burton and Temidayo Fateropa qualified for tomorrow's 400-meter hurdle finals with times of 54.34 and 56.37, respectively.
- Jalen Dorsey took fifth in the long jump with a mark of 6.43 meters.
