SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's outdoor track & field team had seven athletes qualify for finals on the first day of the 2026 CCAA Track & Field Championships at Mangrum Track & Field on Thursday.

TOP PERFORMERS
- Jason Wells finished third in the 100-meter prelim with a time of 10.58, while Troy Thompson Jr. placed seventh at 10.74 seconds. Both will compete in Saturday's final.
- Gio Moya finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles prelim and qualified for Saturday's final with a time of 54.56.
- In the 1500-meter prelim, Chas O'Bear (3:57.22), Ziggy Nacco (3:57.52) and Sankalp Shastri (3:58.13) each qualified for Saturday's final, finishing ninth through 11th.
- Logan Wilson qualified for Saturday's 400-meter final with the eighth-fastest prelim time of 48.68 seconds.
- Jayson Oliver was the Cougars' lone point scorer for the day as he finished eighth in the 10,000-meter run at 31:59.58.
