LA JOLLA, Calif. – A pair of top-10 program marks and other top performances highlighted the Cal State San Marcos men's track & field team's day at UC San Diego's Triton Invitational on Saturday.
 
TOP PERFORMANCES

• Kalathan Laiwa-McKay improved his PR in the hammer throw with a distance of 45.04 meters – seventh best in program history – while finishing 11th. Teammate Trevor Nakata took 10th with a distance of 48.94 meters.
• Will Prouty tied for the eighth-best shot put mark in program history with a mark of 12.93 meters. Laiwa-McKay and Nick Tangonan threw distances of 14.43 and 13.13 meters, respectively.
• Out of 37 participants in the 400-meter run, Jonathan Burton took seventh with a PR of 50.09.
• Kibrom Elias finished eighth out of 46 competitors in the 1500-meter run with a PR of 3:56.06.
• Justice Chima finished fifth out of 33 in the 100-meter dash with a wind-aided time of 10.65.
• Isaac Muanza finished fourth in the triple jump with a wind-aided mark of 14.70 meters.
• Competing against 42 other runners, Nick Melanese and Trevor Boaz took sixth and seventh with times of 1:52.43 and 1:52.65, respectively.
• Boaz, Melanese, Chima and Burton took fourth in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:20.34.
