The Week That WasCSUSM finished the first weekend of CCAA play with a 0-1-1 record, earning one point that put the Cougars in a tie for eighth place in the conference standings. On Friday against Cal State San Bernardino,
Louie Farfan's PK put the Cougars ahead in the ninth minute, but the Coyotes rallied for a pair of short-handed goals to take the match, 2-1. On Sunday against Cal Poly Pomona, the Cougars once again scored the opening goal, but CPP was able to level in the second half. Despite playing up two men, CSUSM could not find the game winner and the teams
settled for a tie, 1-1.

Stan. State Breakdown: Friday will be the first-ever meeting between the squads. Stan. State, formerly known as Cal State Stanislaus, is undefeated on the season and has scored 30 goals in its first seven matches – most in the CCAA. The Warriors have posted shutouts in five of their matches. Their 4.50 goals per competition is ranked fourth in NCAA Division II.

th season as a men's collegiate head coach and 10
th in charge of CSUSM. Pulvers, who started the CSUSM program from the ground up in 2006, holds a 217-125-29 (.624) career coaching record, including a 91-54-15 (.616) mark at CSUSM.
New TerritoryAfter nine seasons of competition in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Cougars enter their first season of NCAA Division II competition in 2015. CSUSM is currently in the second year of a three-year transition to full NCAA Division II membership. As a part of the transition, the Cougars will be ineligible for postseason play in 2015 and 2016.
New ConferenceCal State San Marcos is in its first season competing in the
California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). The CCAA is made up of 12 CSU institutions and UC San Diego. The CCAA is one of the premier NCAA Division II leagues in the nation. Its teams have won more national championships (153) than any other conference. The Cougars came in tied for 12
th in the
