Final Results
OKLAHOMA CITY – The Cal State San Marcos men's golf team shot 2-under 282 in the final round and finished third at the U.C. Ferguson Classic on Tuesday at Lincoln Park Golf Course.
Kevin Cline led the Cougars with a 5-under 66, matching two others with the lowest rounds of the tournament.
Ryan Odom,
Braeden Koran and
Scott Shefflette all shot 1-over 72 to wrap up the scoring for CSUSM.
Cline and Odom tied for 11
th in the individual standings at 1-under 141. Koran was one back at even par.
Ben Itterman, who's 76 did not count towards CSUSM's final-round team score, tied for 36
th at 6-over par 148. Shefflete tied for 43
rd at 8-over 150.
All four Wayland Baptist scorers finished in the 60's as WBU took the tournament by six strokes over Oklahoma Baptist. WBU shot 17-under 551.
The Cougars were the only other team to shoot par or better, coming in on the number with a 568. Odom's 69 led CSUSM to a 2-over 286 in Monday's opening round.
The competition was originally scheduled for three rounds, but was shortened due to severe weather.
The Cougars end their fall campaign on home soil in Oct. 21-22's CSUSM Fall Classic at Twin Oaks Golf Course.
