SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's track & field team tallied five points on the first day of the 2023 CCAA Track & Field Championships at Mangrum Track & Field on Thursday.
 
TOP PERFORMANCE

• In CSUSM's lone men's event, Kalathan Laiwa-McKay earned his way into the discus final with a mark of 40.05 in the. On his sixth and final attempt, he posted a mark of 44.47 and finished the event in fourth place.
• Laiwa-Mckay's finish gave CSUSM five points to finish the day in third place.
