CSUSM Medals Six Times to Conclude CCAA Championships

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's outdoor track & field team saw six medals, including one gold, on the final day of the 2026 CCAA Track & Field Championships on Saturday at Mangrum Track & Field.
 
TOP PERFORMERS
  • Kevin Meumann won CSUSM's first CCAA Championship in the 110-meter hurdles with the fourth-fastest time in program history at 14.45 seconds.
  • Renton McGregor earned silver in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:51.39 while Noah Cavender finished seventh in 1:57.33. Together, they tallied 10 points for the event.
  • In the 4x100-meter relay, the team of Logan Wilson, Jason Wells, Adam Moe and Troy Thompson Jr. earned bronze with a time of 41.06 and earned the Cougars six points.
  • Wells earned his second bronze medal of the day in the 100-meter dash as he placed third with a time of 10.55 seconds and earned CSUSM six points, while Thompson Jr. finished eighth in 11.29 seconds and earned one point.
  • Wells later added a third bronze in the 200-meter dash as he broke his own school record with an NCAA Division II provisional time of 20.99 seconds and earned the Cougars six points.
  • Gio Moya took bronze in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 53.45 and earned six points for the event.
  • Ziggy Nacco (3:50.07) and Chas O'Bear (3:55.43) tallied six total points for CSUSM in the 1500-meter run as they finished fourth and eighth, respectively.
  • Joseph Forte posted the third-best shot put mark in program history at 15.04 meters, finishing fifth and scoring four points for CSUSM.
  • In the pole vault, Joseph Sbuttoni IV had the fourth-best pole vault mark in team history at 4.66 meters, finishing sixth and earning CSUSM three points.
  • Logan Wilson earned the Cougars three points in the 400-meter dash, placing sixth with a time of 48.28 seconds.
  • CSUSM concluded the meet with a fifth-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay as the team of Kylan Green, Isaac Brooks, Jason Wells and Logan Wilson tallied the seventh-best time in program history at 3:15.98 and earned CSUSM four points.

CSUSM will have one final weekend to improve marks for possible selection to the 2026 NCAA Championships as it heads to Azusa Pacific for the Franson Last Chance beginning on Thursday.
