SAN DIEGO – The Cal State San Marcos men's track & field team saw a NCAA Division II provisional and top-10 program time at UC San Diego's Triton Invitational on Saturday.

TOP PERFORMANCES
- Nick Melanese placed second in the 800-meter run with the second-fastest time in program history and an NCAA Divisional II provisional at 1:50.58. Matt Frey finished third with the team's fourth-best time at 1:51.64.
- Jeremy Rack matched his own PR in the 110-meter hurdles at 15.47.
- Shea Vavra took second out of 61 competitors in the 1500-meter run with a time of 3:53.69. Teammate Sankalp Shastri was fifth at 3:54.65.
- Kalathan Laiwa-McKay came just .13 shy of PR in the hammer throw at 49.16 meters. He later posted a shot put mark of 14.61 meters and a discus throw of 44.04 meters.
- Kenyon Riley was the top Cougar in the 400-meter dash at 50.43.
- Zavier Hidalgo tallied a 100-meter time of 11.17.
- Jackson Cross was CSUSM's top runner in the 200-meter dash at 22.99.
- Hayden Sumner was the top CSUSM finisher in the 400-meter hurdles at 57.58.
- Chris Lee posted a pole vault of 4.25 meters.
- Shaun Katje posted a wind-aided long jump of 6.46 meters in the long jump. He later had a wind-aided triple jump of 13.08 meters.
- Alex Anderson finished with a time of 9:52.88 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
- CSUSM capped off the meet with a time of 3:26.14 in the 4x400-meter relay.
