COURSE REPORT:  With winds a bit calmer until the final holes, the No. 8/8 Cal State San Marcos women's golf team slid into first place after carding a 16-over 304 on Tuesday to take a four-stroke lead over second-place Cal State East Bay at the CCAA Championships. Lauren Hickam and Makenna Cabardo are tied for second, four strokes behind Morgan Sjoerdsma of Cal State LA.

FIRST TEE

• Beginning the day with a 3-over 39 on the back nine, Hickam turned things around by carding an even par on the front to finish with a 3-over 75.
• Cabardo pulled up even with Hickam after finishing the day with a 4-over 76. Both golfers enter tomorrow's final round with a 10-over 154.
• Madison Murr also rebounded after a difficult back-nine score of 6-over 42 with an even-par 36 in the final nine holes to finish the day tied for eighth with a 12-over 156 (78-78).
• Breann Horn had the largest improvement from day one, turning in a 3-over 75 in the second round. She sits in a three-way tie for 12th place with a 14-over 158.
• Diana Delgado carded an 8-over 80 on Tuesday and is tied for 22nd with a 20-over 164.
