SAN MARCOS, Calif. –
Carmella Carlisi from Cal State San Marcos has been selected as the FloCollege/CCAA Women's Golfer of the Week.
Carlisi helped lead the No. 16-ranked Cougars to a tournament win, shooting a 5-over 221 to tie for first place. She jumped out to the tournament lead with a 5-under 67 on Monday. Carlisi then posted a 4-over 76 in the second round and a 6-over 78 in the third to finish tied with Lauren Lee from Western Washington. The trophy would go to Lee after she won on a playoff hole.
The freshman from Del Mar, California, finished second in the tournament in par-4 scoring (+3) and third in birdies (9).
As a team, CSUSM won the tournament by 18 strokes over Simon Fraser. Four of their golfers finished in the top 10, and five were in the top 11.
This is Carlisi's first career CCAA Golfer of the Week award and the fourth for Cal State San Marcos in 2025-26.
Avery Foster won the award twice (Oct. 8-14, Feb. 18-24) and
Chloe Rahn once (Sept. 24-30).
CSUSM will be back in action next week at The Patriot Invitational hosted by Dallas Baptist in Carmel, California.
