  • In 2011, CSUSM swept SFU on April 2 by scores of 7-2 and 4-3 before falling 2-1 in the first round of the A.I.I. Softball Conference. Championships. All three of those games were played at CSUSM.

  • In their last meeting, the Cougars prevented a series sweep at home with a 1-0 eight-inning victory over the Seawolves in 2019. That was CSUSM's first win against SSU at home.
  • SSU started off the season with a 3-2 record at the Concordia Irvine Kickoff Classic, registering wins over Hawaii Pacific (4-3), then-No. 3 Biola (13-8) and Colorado Mesa (6-4). The Seawolves fell to Azusa Pacific (11-3) and Northwest Nazarene (7-2).

  • Last weekend, SSU went 1-3 against San Francisco State at home in its opening weekend of CCAA play. The Seawolves dropped the first three games by scores of 6-1, 5-3 and 6-5 before rallying back to take the series finale, 4-2.
