COURSE REPORT: Playing in typical beautiful California weather, the Cal State San Marcos men's golf team sits on top of the leaderboard after two rounds of the CSUSM Fujikura Invitational on Monday at Shadowridge Golf Club. The Cougars have an eight-stroke lead over second-place Colorado State – Pueblo after carding a two-round score of 8-under 568 (285-283).
FIRST TEE
- Jason McElroy carded the two lowest rounds of his young collegiate career, 70 and 68, to enter the final round in second place with a 6-under 138.
- After turning in the second-lowest first round of the tournament with a 68, Matthew Moss shot a 73 in the second round and sits in fifth with a 3-under 141.
- Matt Pennington improved on his opening round of 73 with a 71 in the afternoon to move up five spots and tied for 12th with an even-par 144.
- Arman Rahgozar also raised the bar in the second round to finish day one tied for 18th with a 1-over 145 (74-71).
- Connor O'Hern is in a seven-way tie for 44th place with a 9-over 153.
- CSUSM's top individual, Greg Mouser, opened the tournament with a 71 and concluded the day with a 73 to join Pennington with an even-par 144 and tied for 12th.
