COURSE REPORT:  The RV/No. 24 Cal State San Marcos women's golf team captured its first tournament of the season on Wednesday after carding a 5-under 571, defeating second-place Point Loma (591, +15) by 20 strokes, at the Southwest Airline Hawaii Pacific Shark Shootout. Breann Horn was crowned the individual medalist after turning in a 7-under 137 (69-68) at the Pearl Country Club golf course in Aiea, Hawai'i.

FIRST TEE

• Breann Horn shot a 4-under 68 on Tuesday with five birdies and one bogey.
• Madison Murr moved up 10 spots to fourth place after collecting a 4-under 68 to finish the tournament with a 1-under 143.
• Diana Delgado carded a 1-under 71 to finish with an even-par 144 for fifth place.
• Caroline Wales finished in a five-way tie for seventh place with a 3-over 147 (73-74).
• Makenna Cabardo turned in a 13-over 157 (79-78) and tied for 39th place.

INSIDE THE SCORECARD

• This is Horn's first tournament win this season and fourth of her career.
• CSUSM dominated the birdie category with 34 birdies with Horn leading the field of 84 golfers with 12 birdies and Murr tallying the third highest with nine.
• Delgado registered 26 pars, sharing the top honor with Biola's Melanie Reyes.
• The Cougars recorded a tournament high in Par-4 (4.13, +13) and Par-5 scoring (4.65, -14).
• CSUSM has tallied 27 tournament wins since moving to NCAA Division II and 43 wins in program history.
