Caroline Wales concluded 36 holes tied with University of Arkansas-Fort Smith's Sydney Williams with a 1-over 145, but eventually lost the five-hole playoff for the trophy at the Nick Turner Invitational on Tuesday. After leading by five strokes entering the final round, the CSUSM women's golf team fell to second place after a 17-over 305 performance on Tuesday to finish with a 22-over 598.
FIRST TEE
- Wales started off the day with five bogeys and four pars before finding her rhythm, turning in a 2-under 34 on the back nine to end the tournament with a 1-over 145 (70-75).
- Makenna Cabardo tied for 13th with a 6-over 150 (73-77) while Breann Horn stayed in the top 20 with a 7-over 151 for a share of 17th place.
- Kaila Higgins carded an 8-over 152 (75-77) to tie for 52nd place.
- Competing in her first collegiate tournament, Lynn Pham tied for 47th place with a 15-over 159 (77-82).
