CLAREMONT, Calif. – In its first meet in 693 days, the Cal State San Marcos women's track & field team saw school records fall in Claremont-Mudd-Scripps' OIDFE Challenge on Saturday at the Burns Track Complex.
 
TOP PERFORMANCES

• Ana Mercado broke the school record in the one-mile run with a time of 5:08.55, taking down Natalie Rodriguez's record of 5:21.0 in 2016. Emma Mills and Grace Handler joined Mercado on the top-10 list for the one-mile run as Mills' 5:36.70 ranks seventh all-time and Handler's 5:43.13 ranks ninth.
• Teigen O'Donnell had a winning 60-meter hurdles time of 9.25. Morgann Wilson finished third in 9.64.
• Bianca Encio turned in the second-best shot put mark in team history with a winning mark of 12.44 meters.
• Encio later won the weight throw with a school record distance of 12.44 meters.
• Renee Laurenzana won the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:35.21. Teammate Luz Mercado placed second with a time of 10:35.55.
• Devin Yarbrough won the long jump with a distance of 5.30 meters. Teammates Kayla James and Cam Ellis finished second and third with marks of 5.05 meters and 4.68 meters, respectively.
• Yarbrough took second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.07, but her prelim time was better at 8.05.
• Mia Salinas won the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.08.
• The team of Ana Mercado, Rachel Sjolie, Clarissa Garcia and Luz Mercado won the distance medley relay with a time of 12:24.01 – the sixth-fastest mark in program history.
• Amaya Mahmoud won the triple jump with a mark of 11.01 meters. Teammate Emily Godsey took second at 9.94 meters.
• Godsey finished third in the high jump at 1.45 meters.

The women's team will begin the indoor portion of its schedule at the GVSU Big Meet on Friday, Feb. 11 in Allendale, Michigan.
