COURSE REPORT: The Cal State San Marcos men's cross country team opened the 2019 season competing in the Biola Invitational at Ted Craig Regional Park in Fullerton, California. CSUSM boasted a first-place finish with 42 points on an 8-kilometer course.
 
FINISH LINE

• Redshirt Junior Kibrom Elias led the Cougars with a third-place finish, completing the course in 25:22.1.
• Just seconds behind Elias, sophomore Joshua Litwiller crossed the line at 25:26.0 to finish fourth overall. 
• Senior Kevin Lehr (25:38.88, ninth) and Shea Vavara (25:41.32, 10th) finished within the top 10 for the Cougars.
• Robert Marin clocked in at 25:53.93 to finish 18th overall.

"The men did a fantastic job of training hard consistently all summer, and that showed today. These men have the makings of a special team, and today was a great start. Biola, CMS, and UCSD have strong squads, so to be able to be where we are now is exciting for the months to come."
