Record Six Cougars Earn All-CCAA Baseball Honors

CHICO, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos baseball team saw a record six of its student-athletes earn California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) All-Conference honors on Tuesday afternoon.

Austin Ott and Cabot Van Til earned All-CCAA first team honors while Andrew Garcia, Grant Buck and Joseph Bahna were named to the All-CCAA second team. Mike Lopez was named an All-CCAA honorable mention.

Ott finished the season ranked third for RBIs (49), first for sacrifice flies (8) and seventh for slugging percentage (.586) in the CCAA. Garcia had the fourth-highest batting average in the CCAA at .373 and had the most multi-RBI games on the team with 13. The junior was the 11th-toughest player to strikeout in the league as he struck out every 9.5 at-bats.

In his lone season with the Cougars, Buck ranked third in the CCAA for home runs (10), seventh for hits (62), second for runs (48), fourth for RBIs (48) and fourth for total bases (104) while hitting .335. He was named the CCAA Player of the Week on two occasions.
