SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos softball team walked away with a 4-0 series-finale victory over Stanislaus State on Saturday at CSUSM Softball Field. The Cougars dropped game one 3-0 to split the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) doubleheader.

- The Warriors took advantage of a CSUSM error to take a 1-0 lead on Melissa Spencer's RBI single in the third inning.
- Stan State pushed two more runs across the plate on a fielder's choice in the fifth to take a 3-0 lead.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the opening frame, Melody Forstie hit an RBI single to right center to score Andelin who reached on a single to left.
- Forstie later scored on Wood's RBI single to short right field to put CSUSM up 2-0 after the first inning.
- Scardina crushed a two-RBI line drive single to right field to give CSUSM two insurance runs at 4-0 in the fifth.
