HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ Â Â
- Ali Steen got the Cavaliers on the board with a 2-RBI single up the middle in the third inning.
- CUP extended its lead to 3-0 on Chelsea Sligh's RBI double to right in the fourth.
- Forstie's solo homer to left field cut CSUSM's deficit to 3-1 in the bottom of the fourth.
- CSUSM put together five hits including two RBI singles by Andrea Wood and Calderon to even the score at 3-3 in the fifth inning.
- The Cavaliers once again took the lead in the top of the seventh at 4-3 on a two-out RBI single by Allie Hancock.
- After pinch hitter Skie Munoz reached on an errorwWith two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Forstie and Jaqlyn Newhouser both drew walk before Smith crushed a 2-RBI single through the left side to end the game at 5-4.Â

- Smith tossed a complete game, giving up four runs (two earned) on eight hits while striking out two batters.
- CUP's Kayla Langerquist entered in relief to take the loss, throwing 2.2 innings and giving up three earned runs.
- Forstie's homer was her third in her career. She hit two last year, including a three-run blast in CSUSM's 9-1 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on April 7.
- The win is first-year Head Coach Stef Ewing's first victory as a collegiate head coach.Â

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ Â Â
- CUP took a 1-0 lead in the opening frame on a Yoshika RBI single to right field, scoring Macy Besuyen who drew a leadoff walk.
- CSUSM quickly evened the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the first on Newhouser's sac fly that plated Forstie, who singled, advanced on an error and stole third.
- The Cavaliers put up a run in the second and three more in the third, capitalizing on two CSUSM errors and collecting four hits in the two frames.
- Calderon began the third with a walk and dvanced two bases on a wild pitch before scoring on Newhouser's single off the left center wall.
- Despite finishing the top of the sixth, the game was reverted back to the end of the fifth after the game was called due to rain.
