TURLOCK, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos baseball team scored seven runs in the top of the ninth for a thrilling come-from-behind 12-6 victory at Stanislaus State in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play on Friday night. The win was CSUSM"s fifth straight and began a three-game series against the Warriors.
With the win, the Cougars move to 15-14 overall and 7-10 in CCAA action. The Warriors drop to 12-10 overall, 5-7 in conference.

L.A. Gamo went 3-for-5 with 2 RBIs and a run while senior
Brandon Bentson tallied two hits and a RBI.
CSUSM trailed 5-2 heading into the seventh inning. The Cougars plated twice on pinch hitter
Clinton Perez's infield single, taking advantage of a Warrior bobble.
The Cougars evened the game in the top of the eighth after sophomore
Tyler Place drew a one-out walk, advanced to third on Bentson's single through the right side and scored on a Warrior error.
The Warrior pitching staff began the top of the ninth with two walks and a hit batter. Junior
Ross Lemmel and Gamo hit back-to-back singles to push two runs across the plate. Two additional Warrior errors, Bentson's RBI single and a sacrifice fly by sophomore
Austin Ott gave CSUSM four more runs to make it 11-5. CSUSM's final run of the inning came on a wild pitch.
Stanislaus State led off the bottom of the frame with a single by Adam Nascimento. Junior
Hayden Weir relinquished one run on a sacrifice fly but retired the final three batters to secure the victory.
Weir, who has been doing double-duty for the Cougars as their seven-inning starter and also closer, collected his third win of the season.
Stanislaus State's Micah Hall took the loss after giving up four runs – three earned – after 1/3 inning on the hill.
The Cougars close out their first three-game CCAA series of the season with a doubleheader against the Warriors on Saturday, March 26. First pitch is slated for 11 a.m.
