AS A REDSHIRT JUNIOR IN 2016: All-CCAA honorable mention … Made 25 appearances with three starts … Pitched 66 innings, third highest on the team … Team-best 2.86 earned run average … Finished with an 8-2 record and three saves … Eight wins was highest on team … Seven conference wins tied for the most in CCAA this season … Held opponents to a .237 batting average … Second on the team with 45 strikeouts … Tossed 122 pitches in a nine-inning, complete-game shutout with four strikeouts and five hits at UC San Diego (May 7) … Got his first collegiate start after the scheduled starter got pulled prior to first pitch at Cal Poly Pomona (March 12) … In second start, went seven innings and relinquished three runs for the win at Cal State Dominguez Hills (March 19) …  Got a win and a save in the Sonoma State doubleheader (April 16) … Threw 8.1 shutout innings, giving up five hits and fanning six batters, in the 16-inning victory for the win at San Francisco State (April 10).

AS A REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE IN 2015: Made 18 appearances in relief … Tallied a 2.91 ERA in 21.2 innings … Kept the opposition off the scoreboard in 13 of his outings … Concluded the year with 9.1 consecutive scoreless innings … Threw 2.2 scoreless innings against then-No. 1 Georgia Gwinnett (May 5) in the A.I.I. Conference Championships winner-takes-all game … Recorded three strikeouts in one frame at Vanguard (April 7).  

AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN IN 2014: Pitched in 10 games in relief … Struck out six batters in 7.3 innings pitched … Tossed a perfect inning of relief against La Sierra (Jan. 31).

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2013: Did not play.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2012 graduate of North High School in Torrance, Calif. ... Two-time All-Pioneer League second team... Had an ERA of 2.59 his senior year.

PERSONAL: Born April 28, 1994 in Torrance, Calif. ... Son of Jim and Julie Weir ... Has an older sister, Sydney... Favorite thing about CSUSM is all the great people and the growing campus ... Enjoys backpacking ... Roots for the L.A. Dodgers ... Favorite athlete is “The Captain” Derek Jeter ... Favorite movies are “Pulp Fiction” and “Interstellar” … Favorite CSUSM moment was throwing a complete game shutout against No. 26 UC San Diego in front of family for Mother’s Day in 2016 ... Favorite thing about CSUSM is the transition from NAIA to NCAA as it has been an awesome experience for seeing the entire CSUSM Department of Athletics grow in every aspect and it is all centered around giving the student-athletes the best experience possible … Majoring in Environmental Sciences … Plans on being a brewer / sales representative at Dos Desperados Brewery and then own his own brewery after graduation.
