Lucky Win #13… In A RowCSUSM upped its winning streak to 13 games with three doubleheader sweeps of Hope International, Adelphi and San Diego Christian last week. The stretch is tied for the fifth-longest winning streak in CSUSM history, matching the run from Feb. 16-Mar. 11, 2013. CSUSM is hitting .341 as a team and Cougar hurlers have limited opposing batters to a .195 clip while posting a 1.54 ERA. The longest winning streak in CSUSM history is 22 games from Feb. 18-Mar. 21, 2012.

Vanguard PreviewThe Lions enter Friday's contests riding an eight-game winning streak and has not allowed more than two runs in any of those games. Their lone loss came against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps – the Cougars' Sunday opponent. VU has six players hitting over .400 on the season, and the VU pitchers have registered a 1.35 ERA to this point.

Last meeting: W, 8-0 (5 inn.), W, 6-1 (Mar. 27, 2014); Wilkinson delivered a four-hit, complete-game shutout in game one. In game two, CSUSM scored three in the first inning and a two-run homer from

CMS PreviewCMS is a NCAA Division III program which hails from the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC). The Athenas have rattled off five straight wins since dropping their season opener on Feb. 7 against Vanguard. CMS has outscored its opponents 29-5 over that stretch. Tara Robinson is hitting .588 and Carly Roleder is batting .538.

Who We AreCSUSM is an NAIA Division I institution which competes in the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Conference. CSUSM was accepted into NCAA Division II Candidacy Year One and the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) during the summer and is currently going through a three-year transition phase in order to gain full NCAA DII status for the 2017-18 season. The 2014-15 season will be the school's final year competing in the NAIA.
