Lynette Mackey contributed 13 and 10 points, respectively, with each pulling down seven rebounds. The Cougars capitalized on Chico State's ball handling errors, scoring 27 points on the Wildcats' 20 turnovers.

Rules Are A Changing in 2015-16There are major changes in women's basketball this season. Games will now consist of four 10-minute quarters rather than two 20-minute halves. Teams will also now be awarded two free throws for each common foul beginning with the fifth team foul in each quarter.
Cal State Dominguez Hills PreviewAll-time vs. CSUDH: 1-1
Last Meeting vs. CSUDH: L, 47-77 (Nov. 30, 2013). CSUSM trailed 45-26 at halftime and were not able to close the gap against the Toros on day two of Cal State L.A.'s Thanksgiving Classic. Three Cougars reached double-digits in scoring with
Cassie Damyanovich leading the way with 13 points.
Alex Alvarado and Sherika Miller chipped in 12 points and 10 points, respectively.
CSUDH Breakdown: CSUDH, reigning co-CCAA Champion and two-time defending Conference Tournament Champion, opened conference play 3-0 despite struggling in their non-conference schedule (2-6). Senior guard Breanne Garcia leads the CCAA with a 19.6 scoring average.
Stanislaus State PreviewAll-time vs. Stanislaus State: It will be the first-ever meeting between the squads.
Stanislaus State Breakdown: Stanislaus State has dropped four games in a row including two exhibition contests against Fresno State (49-72) and University of the Pacific (61-74). The Warriors are averaging just over four blocks a game, ranking them second in the CCAA. Prior to facing the Cougars, the Warriors play host to Cal State L.A. on New Year's Day.
The Renee Jimenez FileRenee Jimenez took the helm of the CSUSM women's basketball program on May 22, 2015. She brings a wealth of knowledge as a head coach in the CCAA, compiling a 125-71 record in the past seven seasons. Jimenez spent the last two seasons at Cal State San Bernardino (2013-15) after a five-year stint at Cal State Monterey Bay (2008-13).
New ConferenceCal State San Marcos is in its first season competing in the
California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). The CCAA is made up of 12 CSU institutions and UC San Diego. The CCAA is one of the premier NCAA Division II leagues in the nation. Its teams have won more national championships (153) than any other NCAA Division II conference.
New TerritoryAfter four seasons of competition in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Cougars enter their first season of NCAA Division II competition in 2015-16. CSUSM is currently in the second year of a three-year transition to full NCAA Division II membership. As a part of the transition, the Cougars will be ineligible for postseason play in 2015-16 and 2016-17.
