ARCATA, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team (7-20, 4-18 CCAA) fell in its season finale, dropping a 78-68 decision at Cal Poly Humboldt (20-8, 18-4 CCAA) on Saturday afternoon at Lumberjack Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cal Poly Humboldt used a late first‑quarter surge, capped by back‑to‑back threes in the final 80 seconds, to take a 23-12 lead after 10 minutes.
- The Lumberjacks extended their advantage to 43-22 by halftime behind 53% shooting in the second quarter.
- Humboldt grew the margin to as many as 28 midway through the third before CSUSM found its rhythm; Tamashiro buried a pair of threes and Polo added another as the Cougars trimmed it to 62-45 entering the fourth.
- CSUSM continued to chip away in the final frame, getting threes from Yumul, Lewis and Tamashiro, and a Polo triple to pull within eight at 76-68 with 16 seconds left before the Lumberjacks closed it out at the line.
