CSUSM all-time vs. La Sierra: 17-0

Last season: W, 8-2 & W, 9-1 (5inn.) on Mar. 7, 2014;
The then-No. 8 Cougars impressed with their bats and arms in last year's series between the teams. CSUSM was backed by homeruns from Caylyn Rodriguez and Melyssa Bellamy in game one, while the pitching duo of Ashley Dagenais and Brenna Parker held the Golden Eagles hitless in a five-inning game two. It was the eighth no-hitter in program history and the first-ever combined no-hitter.

Opening Weekend Recap
CSUSM went 1-1 last weekend against La Verne, falling 5-3 in game one before bouncing back with an 8-0, five-inning run-rule victory in game two. A three-run homerun by Naomi Amu put CSUSM ahead, 3-2, in the fifth inning of the season opener, but the Leopards put up three runs in the bottom the sixth to earn the win. Two of the runs given up in game one by the Cougars were unearned.

Katie Wilkinson delivered a solid performance in game two, allowing just two hits on her way to a five-inning shutout. Bellamy's three-run homerun got things started for CSUSM in the third inning. Olivia Lucatuorto and Robyn Alvara each had two-run doubles and Amu added an RBI single in the fourth.
