Final Results
PALM SPRINGS, Calif.  – Cal State San Marcos placed seventh with a two-round total of 96-over-par 672 on Friday afternoon in the Augustana Spring Fling at the Classic Club.
Vanessa Chap shot 9-over-par 81 to lead the Cougars on the final day.
Taylor Coover shot 82,
Lisa Copeland posted 82 and
Victoria Smith carded an 87.
Cassie Stevenson shot 89.
CSUSM shot 51-over-par 339 in Thursday's first round before closing with a 45-over-par 333. West Florida won the contest at 40-over-par 616, two strokes ahead of runner-up Indianapolis.
The tournament consisted of seven NCAA Division II teams and NCAA Division III Pomona-Pitzer. CSUSM was the only NAIA squad in the competition. Augustana, the tournament's host, is located in South Dakota.
Coover led the Cougars with a two-day total of 18-over par 162 (80-82) and tied for 21
st. Chap tied for 30
th at 24-over-par 168 (87-81), while Copeland placed 32
nd at 25-over-par 169 (86-83).
The Cougars' next test is March 24-25's Battle at Primm at Primm Valley Golf Course in Nevada.
