Who We AreCSUSM is an NAIA Division I institution which competes in the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Conference. CSUSM was accepted into NCAA Division II Candidacy Year One and the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) during the summer and is currently going through a three-year transition phase in order to gain full NCAA DII status for the 2017-18 season. The 2014-15 season will be the school's final year in the NAIA.

Kimberly Kipp contributed 18 off the bench as the Cougars pulled away in the second half to clinch the victory on the road. Kipp went 8-for-8 from the floor while grabbing eight rebounds and blocking three shots.
La Sierra Breakdown: With only three returners on this year's roster, the Golden Eagles are in building mode. La Sierra will look to twins Faith and Tina Fantroy, NCAA Division II transfers from Cal State L.A. as well as Destiny Melton from Our Lady of the Lake University, an NAIA Division I program in San Antonio, Texas.
