Box Score COSTA MESA, Calif. – Three Cougars finished in double figures, but No. 7 Vanguard's strong first half was too much to overcome for the Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team as the Cougars fell 95-60 on Thursday night at The Pit.

The Lions (19-2) jumped out to a 53-15 lead at halftime and snapped a two-game win streak for CSUSM (11-18).

Cassie Damyanovich led the Cougars with 16 points and Sherika Miller pitched in with 15 points, but the Cougars committed 27 turnovers that led to 35 points by VU.

Heather Thompson registered a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
CSUSM outscored VU 45-42 in the second frame, but the 38-point deficit proved to be too much for the Cougars to overcome.

The Cougars wrap up their regular season at UC Santa Cruz on Saturday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
