Senior Style
Seniors Sarah Jackson and Mechel'la Logan ended their last career home games in style, each scoring 13 points and 12 points, respectively in a 64-57 win over New Hope Christian on February 9.  It marked the Cougars' second win in a row and third in their last six games.

Vanguard Preview
The seventh-ranked Lions enter Thursday's contest winners in seven of their last eight games. VU topped the Cougars 61-47 in the only other meeting between the teams this season on Nov. 27. The Cougars went into the half tied 28-28, but the Lions opened the second frame with a 20-9 run over the first 10 minutes to gain an 11-point advantage and put CSUSM in a hole that it could not climb out of.

Banana Slug Insight
UC Santa Cruz has dropped four of its last five games, recently falling to Cal Lutheran 56-49 on January 27. UCSC is an independent institution in NCAA Division III. Sarah Mackey leads the Slugs at 13.0 PPG while Ryane Ortiz averages 12.0 PPG. UCSC and CSUSM have never met.
