Box Score The Cal State San Marcos Women's Basketball Team finished off an impressive inaugural regular season with a big victory over the Chapman Panthers Saturday night, winning 66-51. After trailing 30-27 at the half, the Cougars roared back after the break, outscoring Chapman 39-21 after that point.
The score was tied 42-42 with 7:01 remaining, but the Cougars scored 24 points in the final 7 minutes to secure the victory.
Sidney Dobner led CSUSM with 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting, while Gabriel Munsch and
Justine Chacon each added 13. Michel'la Logan pulled down a team-high 8 rebounds in addition to her 7 points, and
Sarah Jackson played excellent defense as usual, notching 4 steals along with her 9 points.
With the victory, Cal State San Marcos (16-14) secured a winning season, and will be heading to the A.I.I. Conference Tournament in South Dakota. If the Cougars win their semi-final game and finish among the top-2 in the tournament, CSUSM will head to the NAIA National Championships in just their very first season.
