Box Score PHOENIX – Heather Thompson registered a double-double with 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds as the Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team dropped Rocky Mountain (Mont.) 73-65 in the Arizona Christian University Women's Basketball Classic on Friday night at Fultz Memorial Gym.

The Cougars led by as much as 16 in the second half, but saw their lead dwindle to two possessions with less than a minute remaining. However, CSUSM was nails from the free throw line as Alexandria Alvarado and Sherika Miller each converted a pair in the final 28 seconds to secure the win.

For CSUSM (4-9), the win marks the team's first since a record-breaking 113-49 victory over Arizona Christian on Nov. 13.

Thompson was 6-of-9 from the floor and added four blocks in the game. Miller chipped in with 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting, while Mechel'la Logan tallied 10. Danielle Cooper pulled down eight boards and six points.

RMC drops to 2-4 on the year.

CSUSM faces Johnson & Wales on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
