Box Score LAS VEGAS – The Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team fell 73-45 to Montana Western at the Vegas Post Christmas Classic hosted by Carroll College on Thursday night.

Sherika Miller led the Cougars with 12 points while Heather Thompson tallied 11 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Michel'la Logan pitched in with nine points and seven boards.

CSUSM falls to 8-11 overall on the season while Montana Western improves to 7-5.

The Bulldogs never trailed in the game, using a 13-3 run midway through the first half to open a 17-point advantage. CSUSM battled to get within 11 with under a minute left in the first frame, but a late three by the Bulldogs made it 37-23 at the break.

Miller hit a jumper to make it 39-27 at the 18:25 mark of the second half, but an 8-0 run saw Montana Western go up by 20. The Cougars could not edge within more than 18 the rest of the way.

CSUSM turns around to face Montana Tech at 5:30 on Friday before playing Carroll at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
