Holiday? No Way
The Cougars will hold a game on Thanksgiving weekend for the second straight season when they play the Warriors on Saturday. In 2011-12, CSUSM participated in the UCSD Classic against NCAA Division II UC San Diego and Cal State San Bernardino on the holiday weekend. CSUSM went 1-1 at the Classic.
Westmont Story
Westmont will be the fourth-straight undefeated team the Cougars have faced. The Warriors have downed Azusa Pacific, Carroll (Mont.), Montana Tech and Bethesda. Westmont beat NCAA Division I's Pepperdine in an exhibition to start the year, 67-60, on Oct. 30. The Warriors have been to the NAIA national tournament five of the last six years and are coming off a 31-4 campaign in 2011-12.
CSUSM's Recent Past
The Cougars went 1-2 overall last week, including a win over Arizona Christian and back-to-back losses to The Master's College and Menlo College. Various records fell for CSUSM in its 113-49 win over ACU. The Cougars set school records for points (113), margin of victory (64), field goals (48), rebounds (70), assists (38) and steals (24) while handing the Firestorm their first loss of the season
