SECOND TIME FOR EVERYTHING
The Cougars officially get their second season as a program underway this weekend at Fresno Pacific, William Jessup and UC Merced. CSUSM, which took home the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Division II conference title in 2011-12, moved up to NAIA Division I in the offseason. With the step-up, head coach Sheri Jennum has restocked her schedule with formidable NAIA and NCAA Division II opponents in order to prepare the Cougars for another postseason run.

WORTH A MENTION
CSUSM received three votes in the NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Preseason Coaches' Poll that was released last week. Although out of the Top 25, the Cougars will have plenty of chances to enter the poll this season, as they have four games slated against ranked teams thus far. CSUSM was recently picked No. 2 in the A.I.I./Unaffiliated/Independent group poll behind Robert Morris (Ill.).

EXHIBITION STORY
CSUSM played an exhibition game against UC Irvine on Tuesday night, falling to the Anteaters, 66-32. Danielle Cooper recorded a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Heather Thompson pitched-in with six points.
