The Cal State San Marcos Women's Basketball team hit the ground running after halftime and never looked back, using a 10-to-1 run early in the 2nd period to come back and defeat Chapman 66-60 Saturday night.

The first half was mostly a defensive battle, as both teams forced a lot of turnovers, and it took the CSUSM over 15 minutes to get their 10^th point, although you would never believe it watching the Cougars shoot the ball in the second half. San Marcos entered halftime trailing 26-20, but roared back with 46 points
after the break to close out the victory.

CSUSM shot an amazing 59.1% percent from the field in the second half, and made 18-of-21 free throws (85.7%). Gabriell Munsch led the Cougars with 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting, and Sidney Dobner added 13 points, all in the second half, to help San Marcos complete the comeback.

MacKensie Harnett had an excellent game as well, recording the third double-double for Cal State San Marcos this season, scoring 10 points and notching a season-high 12 rebounds. The Cougars had a great night defensively forcing 29 Chapman turnovers, led by Ashley Jsames' 5 steals and 2 blocks. Jsames also had a game-high 7 assists.

CSUSM, now 12-13, will look to add to their win streak Thursday as they take on CSU Maritime up in Vallejo, CA. The Cougars will get another chance to face Chapman (11-9) as they close out regular season play February 18th.
