The Cal State San Marcos Women's Basketball team has been road warriors this season, and put up another solid effort Saturday night at La Sierra, but came up just short, falling 69-61.
The Cougars struggled early on against the host Golden Eagles defense, shooting just 31% in the first half and trailed 31-26 at the break.
CSUSM was able to get things going offensively in the second half, led by
Sidney Dobner's excellent game. Dobner had a team-high 16 points, as well as 9 rebounds and 6 assists, playing a significant role in all aspects of the game.
Ashley Jsames also had a great game off the bench, scoring 12 points on 5 of 7 shooting, and adding 4 steals on the other end of the floor.
The Cougars (11-12) will head back home for their next game, Thursday evening against Biola at Mira Costa College in Oceanside. Tip-off is at 7:30 pm.
