With the way the CSUSM Women's Basketball has played lately, they might not want to go home for the holidays. For the second time in three days, the Cougars played excellent basketball in front of the home crowd in Oceanside, winning Wednesday night 91-66 in a game that was never in question.
Point Guard
Sidney Dobner was suberb as usual, leading the way with 18 points, 9 assists, and 6 rebounds.
Justine Chacon hit a couple of 3-pointers and scored 16 points along with 4 assists, and Gabrielle Munsch added 15 points and a game-high 7 rebounds.
The Cougars also played excellent defense, giving up nothing in the paint, and forcing the La Verne Leopards into taking 41 three-pointers.
Sarah Jackson, playing with a broken finger, keyed the defense with 3 blocks and 2 steals, in addition to her 6 rebounds.
After playing in many tight games this season, it was nice for the Cougars to display their depth, as 10 different Cougars scored on the evening. CSUSM is now 8-9, and La Verne falls to 1-7 on the season.
