Box Score Coming off a thrilling win to start their four-game Oregon swing, CSU San Marcos women's basketball couldn't keep the momentum going on Friday, losing to Warner Pacific 82-60.
CSUSM is now 2-5 in its inaugural season. Warner Pacific, who received votes in the preseason NAIA Division II poll, improves to 3-2.
Not much went right on the night for the Cougars, who were down 10 at the half. CSUSM shot under 30% from the field (20-for-67) and from behind the arc (5-for-19), though the team did manage to drastically cut down on turnovers from the previous night, from 38 down to 17 on Friday. The Cougars also matched Warner Pacific with 42 rebounds.
But CSUSM had no answers defensively, as the home team shot 47% for the contest despite just 1-for-11 from three. Warner Pacific also hit 31-of-36 free throw attempts to CSUSM's 15-of-20, accounting for most of the difference in the score.
Michel'la Logan led the Cougars with 18 points but needed 17 shots to get there. She also grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds, her second consecutive game in double figures. Guards

Sarah Jackson combined to shoot 2-for-14, though they grabbed 6 boards apiece. Post players
Gabriell Munsch and
Danielle Cooper were quiet but efficient on offense, combining for 14 points on 6-for-13 shooting.
CSUSM will play for the third consecutive night tomorrow when they take on Western Oregon.
