Mechel'la Logan with 16 seconds left proved to be the game winner Thursday night, as Cal State San Marcos women's basketball opened its Oregon trip with a hard-fought 67-65 victory over Concordia (OR).
The Cougars are now 2-4 on the season. Concordia drops to 1-2.
CSUSM overcame a 6-point halftime deficit to capture the road victory, the first in program history (though the team has two exhibition road wins over NCAA Division II schools).
The effort started on defense, where the Cougars held Concordia to 33% from the floor, 12% from three (2-for-16), and forced 30 turnovers.
On offense, the Cougars were able to overcome 36 turnovers of their own to earn the win. Logan led the way, filling up the box score with 18 points on 6-for-12 shooting, a game high 12 rebounds including 7 on offense, and 4 steals.

Justine Chacon chipped in 10 points each, and guard
Sarah Jackson had a nice game with 9 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals. Center
Gabriell Munsch played just 15 minutes due to foul trouble and eventually fouled out for the second straight game, though not before chipping in 5 points and 4 rebounds.
Concordia was led by Megan Padilla's 18 points.
The Cougars will play the second of their four games in Oregon tomorrow against Warner Pacific.
