Naomi Amu has been named the Cal State San Marcos Female Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of February 2015. Amu, a senior designated player from Oceanside, helped the Cougars to a 16-3 overall record during February – which also included a 14-game winning streak. She hit .429 with team-highs of nine home runs, 29 RBI, 13 walks and 50 total bases. She slugged 1.020 and posted an on-base percentage of .556
She was named the Most Valuable Player of the 32-team Desert Stinger Classic while leading CSUSM to the tournament championship after hitting .688 (11-for-16) with four homeruns, 16 RBI and 24 total bases. Amu currently leads the NAIA in homeruns (10), total bases (56) and RBI (33).
