AS A REDSHIRT JUNIOR IN 2023 DURING CROSS COUNTRY
  • Competed in six races. 
  • Ran a 5K PR time of 18:06.2 for seventh place at the 42nd Annual UCR Invitational (Sept. 16). 
  • Placed 16th at the CCAA Championships (Oct. 21) with a 6K time of 22:00.9. 
  • Recorded a 6K time of 22:13.1 for 43rd place at the NCAA West Regional (Nov. 4). 


AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN IN 2023 DURING TRACK & FIELD
  • Competed in two indoor meets and three outdoor meets.
  • Ran the ninth-fastest indoor mile in program history in 5:22.75 at the Minnesota State Massive Meet (Feb. 11, 2023).
  • Helped run the fifth-fastest indoor DMR in program history at 12:18.49 at the Minnesota State Massive Meet (Feb. 10, 2023).
  • Ran a season-best outdoor 1500-meter time of 4:51.25 at the Beach Opener (March 3-4).

AS A REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE IN 2022 DURING CROSS COUNTRY
  • Competed in five races. 
  • Placed 32nd at the CCAA Championships (Nov. 5) with a 6k time of 23:23.1. 
  • Turned in a 6k season-best time of 22:06.8 at the NCAA West Regional (Nov. 19) for 35th place. 

AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN IN 2022 DURING TRACK & FIELD

AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN IN 2021 DURING CROSS COUNTRY
  • Ran in six races. 
  • Made her collegiate debut at the Mark Covert Classic (Sept. 4), turning in a 5K time of 20:37.1 for 79th place. 
  • Ran a 5K personal-best time of 19:24.5 at the Biola Invitational (Sept. 10) for 28th place. 
  • Placed 22nd at the Cougar Challenge (Sept. 25) with a 6K time of 22:07.6. 
  • Turned in a 6K PR time of 21:28.4 for 15th place at the CCAA Cross Country Championships (Oct. 23). 
  • Took 69th place at the NCAA West Regional (Nov. 6) with a 6K time of 23:03.

  • A 2020 graduate of Aliso Niguel High School in Aliso Viejo, California.
  • Two-time team MVP in cross country and track & field.
  • Two-time All-Orange County for cross country.
  • Served as team captain of cross country and distance track team senior year.
  • School valedictorian after having an above 4.0 average GPA all four years.
  • Perfect attendance all four years.
  • Third fastest cross country 3-mile time in school history (17:37).
  • Third fastest 1600m time in school history (5:08).
  • Led team to a fourth-place finish in the All County in Varsity Sweepstakes at OC Championships cross country meet in 2019.  
  • 2019 team qualified for CIF finals for the first time in school history.
  • Also competed in water polo, soccer and softball.
  • Named team MVP her freshman year in water polo.
  • Also partakes in horseback riding.

CLUB
  • Ran for Southern Orange County Wildcats (2015-16).
  • Named an All-American in 2016 for the 1500m 13-14U at USTF Nationals in New York.

PERSONAL
  • Born and raised in Aliso Viejo, California.
  • Daughter of Jim and Michele Schuerger.
  • Has a younger sister, Lauren.
  • Cousin, Garret Guillemette, will play baseball at USC in 2021.
  • Intends to become an exercise scientist and/or physical therapist.
  • Enjoys horseback riding, going to the beach with friends, fishing and watching horse racing.
  • Favorite movies are “Dances with Wolves”, "Avatar" and "G.I. Jane".
  • Roots for the L.A. Lakers.
  • Favorite athletes are Colleen Quigley and Athing Mu. 
  • Favorite foods are pasta, hamburgers and split pea soup.
  • Most memorable moments are winning Dana Hills invite in cross country and her 4x800m team winning the Arcadia Invite.
  • One of her biggest challenges was quitting soccer and water polo to focus on running full time.
  • Gives back to the community by educating athletes on the proper nutrition, ways to train and how to prevent athletic injuries.
  • Likes most about CSUSM is the coaches and other staff being super understanding and wanting you to perform at your best. Many of the professors are very passionate in what they teach and love helping students learn more. San Marcos is also a beautiful area with plenty to do.
  • Favorite CSUSM moment was the first day of practice with her team!
  • Majoring in Kinesiology and minoring in Business Administration.
  • Intends to go to graduate school to study Exercise Physiology. 
  • Aspires to be a racehorse trainer after graduation.
