SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos baseball team (20-6, 7-4 CCAA) swept its doubleheader against Stanislaus State (15-17, 6-9 CCAA) with shutouts of 12-0 and 13-0 to earn the series win on Saturday at Dennis A. Pugh Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CSUSM started the scoring in the bottom of the first on a three-run blast to left by Zech Samayoa to go out front 3-0.
- The Cougars broke out for four runs in the bottom of the third on an RBI single to short by Leighton Helfrick, a two-run single through the left side by Michael Weber and a rundown that allowed Christopher Tampoya to score from third to make it 7-0.
- CSUSM made it a 9-0 game in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI double through the right side by Jake Adams and a Stanislaus fielding error that allowed Jacob Embleton to score from second following a Michael Ryan single.
- An RBI single through the right side by Mikey Gray and a two-run single to right center by Canon King put the Cougars ahead 12-0 in the bottom of the eighth.

- CSUSM went up 2-0 in the bottom of the first on a sacrifice fly by Zech Samayoa and an RBI single up the middle by Leighton Helfrick, all following a Stanislaus error.
- A five-run inning by the Cougars in the bottom of the second put them up 7-0 after a throwing error scored Jake Larson, an RBI double to center by Jacob Embleton, an RBI double down the left field line by Stephen Espinoza, an RBI single through the left side by Samayoa and an RBI triple by Helfrick.
- A grand slam by Canon King and a two-run shot by Samayoa gave CSUSM a 13-0 lead in the bottom of the third.
