SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team (11-10, 8-8 CCAA) earned an 86-74 win over Cal State San Bernardino (10-13, 7-9 CCAA) to conclude its four-game homestand on Saturday afternoon at The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Tied 7-7, CSUSM went on a 7-0 run and took a 14-7 lead on a Dexter Stratton layup with 11:41 to go
- The Cougars continued to push the pace, stretching the margin to double digits at 32-22 with 4:30 to go before taking their largest first-half lead of 17 at 41-24 after two Keavie Love free throws with 2:34 remaining.
- CSUSM took a 43-27 lead into the halftime break after shooting 46.7% (14-of-30) from the field and 38.5% (5-of-13) from three while limiting CSUSB to 37.0% (10-of-27) and 27.3% (3-of-11), respectively.
- CSUSM maintained a double-digit lead until a 6-0 CSUSB run brought its deficit down to 56-47 with 11:08 to go.
- A 9-0 Cougar run immediately after built their lead back to 18 at 65-47 following a Love free throw with 7:57 to play.
- The Coyotes brought the lead back down to single digits late at 81-72 with 1:18 remaining, but they came no closer to the Cougars' lead.
