CHICO, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos baseball team (12-8, 11-4 CCAA) fell in both games of its doubleheader at Chico State (13-7, 8-7 CCAA) by scores of 15-4 and 3-2 on Saturday at Nettleton Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Chico began the scoring in the bottom of the third inning with an RBI bunt single by Elijah Pascual and an RBI single to left by Jeremy Keller.
- A two-run blast to left by Mahaffy knotted the game at 2-all in the top of the fourth.
- The Wildcats took a commanding 12-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning with 10 runs, eight hits and two Cougar errors.
- An RBI double down the left field line by Keller upped Chico's lead to 13-2 in the bottom of the fifth.
- A night after hitting his first career homer on a grand slam, Castandea hit a two-run shot down the right field line to cut CSUSM's deficit to 13-4 in the top of the sixth.
- The Wildcats took a 15-4 lead in the bottom of the seventh with an RBI single through the left side by Crane before a wild pitch and throwing error scored Keller.

- The Cougars got out to a 1-0 lead on a two-out RBI double by Lake that scored Teunissen after his one-out triple in the top of the first inning.
- The Wildcats took the lead at 2-1 as Jesse Gadd hit a two-run double to left with two outs in the bottom of the first.
- An RBI groundout by Chico's Stefan Foley made it a 3-1 game in the bottom of the fourth.
- CSUSM cut the deficit to 3-2 in the top of the sixth with a two-out double to left by Castaneda.
