SAN FRANCISCO – The Cal State San Marcos baseball team (11-16, 5-12 CCAA) split its Friday doubleheader at San Francisco State (18-12, 11-CCAA) by falling 5-0 in the first game before earning a 2-1 win in the second game at Maloney Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Gators took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second with a sacrifice fly to center by Derek Laferierre before a two-run single to center by Sammy Gonzales.
- SF State tacked on another run in the bottom of the fourth as Gonzales hit a triple to left to score Gavin Haimovitz and made it a 4-0 game.
- The final run of the game crossed the plate in the bottom of the seventh as Nick Upstill scored on an RBI single to left by Michael Cunningham to put the Gators up 5-0.

- Gator starter Brody Eglite (3-1) earned the win as he struck out three and allowed just four hits and two walks in 7.0 innings.

- SF State tried to make a comeback in the bottom of the seventh as it plated a run on an RBI single by Sammy Gonzales, but the Gators ended the game by leaving two on base with a fielder's choice at second.
