ROHNERT PARK, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos baseball team (15-21, 9-17 CCAA) split its Saturday doubleheader against Sonoma State (15-20, 9-18 CCAA) with a 9-3 loss in the first game before a 3-1 victory in the second game at Seawolf Diamond.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CSUSM got out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning as Schnopp scored on a wild pitch.
- A bases-clearing double to left center by SSU's Kenny Decelle gave the Seawolves a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the second.
- A two-run double by McGrew down the left field line in the top of the fourth knotted the game at 3-all.
- SSU's Chris Ortiz hit a three-run homer to left to go up 6-3.
- The Seawolves plated the final three runs of the game in the bottom of the sixth as Jared Esparza scored on a double play, an RBI single through the left side by Christopher Wright and an RBI double to left by Daniel Monti to take a 9-3 lead.

- CSUSM made it a 1-0 game in the top of the fourth inning as a bunt single by Schnopp and a SSU fielding error scored Luke Reece.
- An RBI single through the left side by McGrew gave the Cougars a 2-0 lead in the top of the sixth.
- The Seawolves cut the deficit to 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth with an RBI single through the right side by Christopher Wright.
- CSUSM scored its final run in the top of the seventh with an RBI single to right by Diaz.
