SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Splitting its doubleheader against Stanislaus State (17-15, 10-12 CCAA), the Cal State San Marcos baseball team (9-13, 3-9 CCAA) fell 4-3 in the first game before earning a 2-0 win in the second game at CSUSM Baseball Field on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Stanislaus State began the scoring in the top of the fifth as Robert Valdivia hit a solo shot to left to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead.
- CSUSM went up 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth with an RBI single by Rivera and a sacrifice fly to center by Pacino.
- The Warriors retook the lead at 4-2 in the top of the eighth on an RBI single by Jon Luke Goldman and RBI single by Jacob Baker that also scored Goldman on a throwing error.
- The Cougars made it 4-3 in the bottom of the eighth as Schnopp earned an RBI on a fielder's choice that scored Niko Diaz.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Still scoreless entering the bottom of the fourth, that all changed with a two-out RBI single to right field by Pacino and gave CSUSM a 1-0 lead.
- An RBI double to left by Schnopp put the Cougars up 2-0 in the bottom of the sixth.
- Preston Kelly got out of his own jam in the bottom of the seventh. After a walk, a hit-by-pitch and a fielding error, Kelly earned back-to-back swinging strikeouts before putting the game away with a fly out to center.
